Many things about the world are scary right now, but there are plenty of vibrant people out there trying to make it a little less so by sharing their innovative and artistic passions. In The One Off Podcast, John Urban and Erik Kjelland chat with some of these outstanding individuals who shine with real creativity and purpose.

John Urban

John Urban tells stories through still images, video, and screenwriting—though, admittedly, none of his screenplays have made it past page 41. After five years hosting a morning radio show and twelve years behind the mic for a music television program, John made the jump into the world of podcasting—waiting just long enough to make sure they, "catch on." One morning, his best friend’s mom tuned in to his radio show and offered the critique: “You are awfully glib.” John graciously thanked her…then immediately looked up what “glib” meant.

Erik Kjelland

Erik Kjelland is a prolific Wisconsin-based singer/songwriter whose 25-year career has been defined by an unwavering passion for creating honest, emotionally resonant music. For the past 14 years, he has fronted the acclaimed folk-rock band The Mascot Theory, releasing seven studio albums and multiple live recordings that showcase his sharp storytelling and heartfelt lyricism. He also has a passion for producing music videos as an extension of the songwriting process.
